NORTH BRISTOL COMMUNITY PROJECT is a registered charity. Our principle aim is to promote well-being and community learning, to bring about positive personal and social change.
At North Bristol Community Project (NBCP), we encourage Bristol residents to engage with each other and with the local area, by participating in a range of education, leisure and volunteer opportunities, all promoting community learning. We have been developing a strong community spirit for the past 34 years, and appreciate your support in helping us to continue our work for a good few more years!
Our team consists of educators, artists, healthcare, youth & community development practitioners, who all share a real passion for making a difference, through community learning, in a world that sometimes feels uncaring and socially isolating. We also have the support of many volunteers who help us running our workshops and classes. All this makes our ‘office’ a welcoming, thriving and vibrant space where there’s always something going on, and someone new to chat to!
In terms of our audience, NBCP engages with individuals from all walks of life: local residents and their families, students and the elderly, as well as those from disadvantaged groups, such as refugees, asylum seekers, ex-veterans, ex-offenders, the homeless. We also work a lot with people having physical disabilities and mental health issues, and those recovering from substance misuse. We also try to support the BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnicity), and women who have experienced domestic violence, carers, young people leaving Care and the unemployed.
Anyone can access our services, you don’t have to fit any particular category to do so.
North Bristol Community Project welcomes the opportunity to work in collaboration with other relevant agencies to deliver activities within the Bristol area. Indeed, why not spreading the word and boosting engagement for not only our charity but for like-minded organisations too? If you’re interested in partnering or in participating in an event with us, contact us at email@example.com.
We are located in the vibrant Gloucester Road, where many of our activities take place at. In addition to our regular workshops, classes and sessions, we offer a mobile service, that delivers imaginative, creative, activities, in all manner of settings. Let us know what you are planning and we can suggest ideas on how to make it shine. Find out more on our Arts Workshops page! You can also commission us to create bespoke arty activities for corporate, private or community events.
Finally, on top of ongoing volunteer opportunities, NBCP hosts work placements for university level students, from UWE, Bristol University, as well as European programmes such as Erasmus and the Leonard Programme.
